2:00 PM: The Fractals
What do you get when you mix punk, hip-hop, rock ‘n’ roll and mellow jams? The Fractals, of course. With catchy lyrics, smooth beats and a touch of funk, this band is the new frontier of music.
The Fractals’ style can’t be described as anything other than sweet contradiction. On songs like “Priscilla the Killa,” there is a rock ‘n’ roll edge to complement the lyrics that you can’t help but dance to. On the other hand, “Bombs Away” and “Isn’t It Remarkable?” have a more mellow feel, using Hanson’s smooth voice to create sweet jams. Hanson’s R&B flair is especially present in the latter song.
The Fractals are Kevin Hanson (guitar, vocals), Jim Stager (bass, vocals), and Erik Johnson (drums, vocals) and Mike Frank (keys, vocals)
